Challenge your Intellectual Self to Grow

Stay alert, Stay smart.

Do you sometimes feel bored or dull?

You need to stimulate your intellect and balance it  with the rest of your humanness to prevent this bordom and burnout. You are an intellectual being. All humans are.

You may not feel like it. I am not saying you are the smartest person in the world. You probably are not. Being smart is not what I mean when I say you are intellectual.

What I mean is that by nature of being human you think. Whether or not you do it consciously or not, whether you do it well or not, you think. You have a brain and you use the brain along with your senses to perceive the world around you.

The electrical impulses between neurons in your brain combine into unique thoughts and ideas. They combine to form you mind, your consciousness your intellect. No one knows how the physical and chemical become the nonphysical thought, but it does.

And it is part of you as a human.  The challenge is to keep your intellect growing, to not become stale or stagnant.

So here I present one idea you may want to include in your program on wellness to challenge your intellect.

An Intellectual Growth Challenge

Try to learn a new language. I know this sounds like a big job, but don't think of it that way.

Maybe you don't need to speak a second, or third language, fluently, but challenge yourself to learn something. Learn the basics on how to say greetings, numbers, days of the week, directions. Then the job isn't so big, but it's enough to fire your neurons.

It will stimulate your brain is a very good way. Increasing your mental flexibility.

I will be presenting new ideas regularly either my own or one I pick up here or there. Check back for new ideas often.

The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed i
